Heidi and Brandon - The Wedding

Weddings No Comments »

Heidi and Brandon got married at the beautiful Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and I was thrilled to be there to document it.  They have been absolutely wonderful to work with - starting from our very first face-to-face meeting at Stephanie and Derek’s wedding, continuing through the fun engagement session, and their wedding.

So, let me share some of my favorite photographs from their wedding events.  There are a lot as it was really difficult to narrow it down further.  First, let’s start with the beautiful resort.

The festivities kicked off with the rehearsal followed by a “hot” cocktail hour.  While it was warm, there is nothing better than sipping cold drinks under the tropical sun by the beach….until sunset!  Ahhhh…

The next day was the wedding.  Heidi came prepared with the right luggage tags…

…and then the girls proceeded to get ready.

And after a toast and finishing up, it was time for the ceremony which was held with the Pacific Ocean serving as the backdrop.

Then…well, you guessed it - on to the party.  Let me tell you, this was a GREAT party!  It started off with a cocktail hour with mariachis playing.

Then on to the great steak and lobster dinner…which was out of this world.  Oh, yeah, the lobster bisque was pretty darn good too!  But first, a sunset portrait.

All the dancing was briefly interrupted to cut the cake - which was beautifully decorated with flowers.

Heidi, Brandon, I wish you two the very best of everything.  Thank you - and your family and friends - for having me along on your beautiful wedding in Puerto Vallarta.  You chose a great location for what turned out to be a fun time!

Philly

Philladelphia - the city of brotherly love.  Even though I grew up in NJ, I had never actually visited Philly until 2001.  Yes, I was already living in Texas before I visited.  Unbelievable, but true.

Anyway, I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time in Philladelphia back in November, so I took advantage of it and went out to do some street photography.

Whenever I travel, I enjoy going out and seeing what it’s like to be a “local”.  This varies so much by city - but yet there is so much consistency.  The tourist spots are nice, but to get a feel for the city, you have to go to the neighborhoods.  And so, I headed down to South Street and the Italian Market areas.

Here’s what I saw.

It was a great little side trip - with some great food (Philly Cheesesteaks really are pretty darn good!)  It was cool, but not cold.  It was overcast but it didn’t rain.  Overall, a great day for walking around and getting a feel for these neighborhoods.

I recently had the pleasure of helping my friend Janet Grey at a wedding.  I say pleasure because the couple was amazing and the reception venue - the Sugar Creek Country Club (http://www.sugarcreekcctexas.com/) - is one of my favorite venues to work at.  Zoe and her staff do such a wonderful job, and it was no different this time.

Anyway, here are some images from the day.
