Sri and Sumeet - The Wedding

Indian Weddings, Weddings No Comments »

The day came for Sri and Sumeet to get married and I must say it was a perfect day.  It all took place at the beautiful Sugar Land Marriott Town Square where Nalini and her crew from Decor to Remember did a fantastic job in turning the beautiful into extraordinary.

The events started on Friday evening.

Then the main event on Saturday.  Sri got ready.

Sumeet enjoyed his baraat.

Then the wedding ceremony got started.  The beautiful mandap created by Decor to Remember.

After the ceremony, we had some time for some great portraits.  Sri and Sumeet looked GREAT together!

Then it was on to the reception.  The ballroom looked AMAZING!  This is a combination of about six photographs “stitched” together to create a panoramic view.

Now, some of the beautiful flowers and settings.

Sri and Sumeet made their way into the ballroom and enjoyed the first dance together.

Did I mention the beautiful (and delicious) cakes?

The program included some dances and very moving speaches.

As well as a game in which the newlyweds had to answer who was most likely question!

Then the real party got started…

Sri, Sumeet, you two have been absolutely wonderful to work with.  I wish you both continued success and the very best.

Shivani and Amit (AJ) - The Wedding

Wow…what a series of events.  Three days worth of emotion - and beauty.  It all started with Shivani having some beautiful henna done by The Henna Company

The next day, it was a wonderful family party with great music - which everyone enjoyed and danced to.

The third day held the main festivities - and I’ve got to say that it was all beautify and again emotional.  Shena from Desi-gn did a great job coordinating and with the decoration and made the Intercontinental Hotel look fantastic.  Oh, the hotel staff did a fantastic job also!

May I say that this was a GORGEOUS mandap?  Well, I’ll say it.

Shivani got ready and she looked incredible.

Of course, Amit had to put on the finishing touches before heading out into the heat (did I mention it was HOT?) for the baraat.

Shivani’s mother became very emotional as Amit approached.

Then it was inside for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we did some portraits and then on to the reception.

Gita and Sheilen - The Wedding

Indian Weddings, Weddings No Comments »

You may remember Gita and Sheilen from their awesome engagement session…well, this is their wedding!

What an amazing day - and what a great attitude.  Gita and Sheilen were about the most laid back bride and groom I’ve had the pleasure to work with.  Not that they had anything to be uptight about as everything went off perfectly, but they were so absolutely mellow.  You know they enjoyed their day - and so did their family and friends.

So, here is their day in photographs.

Lara and Elie - The Wedding

I photographed Lara and Elie’s engagement session a little while ago and they told me to prepare myself for their wedding as they were expecting a great party.  Well, they were NOT kidding.

First off, their family and friends were amazing and everything was just perfect.  From the beautiful flowers Elie got Lara, to the absolutely stunning bridesmaid dresses, to the beautiful church, to the AMAZING party that celebrated their marriage.

Words cannot describe it so I’ll let the photos do so.

And that was just Lara getting ready!  On to the ceremony which took place at the beautiful St. Kevork Armenian Church.

After the ceremony, it was on the the celebration.  The reception was at Cafe Byblos where they had the entire place for their guests.  Totally AWESOME food, great band, a belly dancer, and a great party.

Lara, Elie, you two were great to work with.  Thank you!  I wish you the very best of everything.

Dierdre and Brian - The Wedding

Weddings 5 Comments »

I first met Dierdre and Brian at Stephanie and Derek’s wedding.  Brian is Stephanie’s brother.

Well, let me just say that it was a pleasure to be able to photograph their wedding.  They had a GREAT party…at a great location.  Yes, the location was the Sheraton Bouganvilias in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  What a spectacular setting - and amazing service.

Here are some pics…

The first day, it was rehearsal time - make sure everything goes off smoothly.  It definitely did with the help of Eleane who handled all the details and was always there to make sure everything went perfectly.

After the rehearsal, it was on to a fantastic dinner at Le Kliff.  Talk about a picturesque setting.  This restaurant is built on terraces carved out of the cliff - with small sitting areas overlooking the ocean.

The next day was the wedding day.  First, I must say that Dierdre and Brian did a great job with the welcome gifts for their family and friends.  They had everything you’d want for a beach vacation - including sunscreen, a waterproof case for your camera (or iPod or cell phone - if you must stay in touch!), and a frisbee!  What better way to showcase their beautiful rings?

The morning started with the girls being pampered with in-room pedicures and manicures…oh, and a bit (OK, a lot) of bubbly!

Dierdre tried to look for Brian down below - and actually did find him.  He was relaxing in his own way with his friends.

Dierdre and Pauline (the maid of honor who was VERY helpful) then went to get their hair and makeup done.

Pauline’s eye makeup was a bit “off” at first - but it got fixed up.

I was then introduced to the dress and shoes…

Then it was time to meet up with Brian and the guys and get the ceremony going.  Brian’s dad presided over the ceremony - which was very nice as Brian had precided over his sister’s (Stephanie) ceremony.

We then gathered everyone up for some portraits.

And a few of just Dierdre and Brian.

Then Brian gave the clear signal that it was time for the party to get started!

He welcomed everyone, thanked them for sharing in this great event, and…well, the photos below capture the fun time that was had under a beautiful tropical evening sky.

Guys - thank you VERY much.  I think you had a great celebration - and that’s what it’s all about.  Best wishes!
