Katherine and Shazad - The Wedding

California Beauty

I recently traveled to California to shoot some art photos in the desert. At the same time, I spent some time with my good friend Tammy Warnock for a one-on-one boudoir workshop (Tammy is one of the BEST out there - check out her work at True Blue Intimates). While there, I had an opportunity to photograph this beauty - which was used as a prop.

The guitar belongs to Tammy’s brother Smitty 50 (Chris Smith) who is a musician. His band, which I had the pleasure of seeing play while out there, is Six Pack to Go and let me tell you, they put on a GREAT show! Great rockabilly band!

Anyway, here are the photos of this gorgeous guitar.

Tammy, thank you for your time and your knowledge but most of all, thank you for your friendship.

Ciji - A “pinup” styled shoot

I had the pleasure of photographing Ciji a while back and I can’t believe I forgot to blog about it. Well, I did but it was partly intentional. Why you may ask? Well I had wanted to create a “Sexy” portfolio category in the main site but when I did, I forgot to blog about her.

I’ve got a few more sessions to blog over the next few weeks as I’ve been doing a lot more boudoir and pinup work lately. It is so much fun and makes for perfect gifts for the groom-to-be, for an anniversary, or Valentine’s Day (yes, start planning now)!

So, here’s Ciji.

Teresa and Ashik - The Engagement

Had a blast photographing Teresa and Ashik recently - even though several of the spots we tried to shoot at were totally overrun with people or activities which forced us to keep looking.

A Drive in the Country

I recently took a drive in the country - if nothing else to get Baby out on the road. It was a beautiful day and I just went with the flow - and my camera!

Sheri and Chris - The Wedding

You may remember Sheri and Chris from their engagement session which had to be rescheduled a few times due to rain. With that type of start it was only fitting that it would rain on their wedding day - which we all know is good luck.

Sheri and Chris have been great to work with and they provided me with a few “firsts”. To start, after all these years theirs was the first wedding where it rained! They are also my first eHarmony couple - which led to a great set of wedding vows. The other “first” I will always remember is Chris’ friend - since pre-school, yes, since they were three years old! - that was present. That does not happen often and it was really cool.

Now, about those wedding vows. Sheri and Chris decided that they’d write a short paragraph to read at their ceremony in which they each described how they met and their first few dates. It was amazing how well they both recalled it - and retold it the same way. Well, one slight difference. Sheri clearly recalls beating Chris at miniature golf on their first date. Chris recalls winning all but one hole - which took him eleven strokes! I think that’s a “non-GAAP” result!

Anyway, here are some photos.

I must also thank Sheri and Chris for allocating enough time for portraits between the ceremony and reception. This is one of my favorite times during the wedding day as it gives me an opportunity to create portraits that will be cherished for a lifetime.

And with a bit of Aggie revelry, I wish you two the very best and hope you enjoy your AMAZING honeymoon trip. See you when you return!

Cars as Art

Over the last couple of years, I have developed this love for “cars as art”. I love cars - just not a “fanatic” of cars. I love the beauty of a sleek sports car. I love the details of a fine antique. I love the rawness of a hot rod. I love to photograph that and capture the cars as works of art.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing some fine examples at the Woodlands Car Club meeting. I’d like to share some of those.

I love them! Next post will be some hotrod details from the Hotrod Hoedown.

Madhavi and Jason - The Wedding

Sheri and Scott - The Engagement

So, it took a while to finally get this done. The Houston weather did not cooperate and lead to two cancellations. When we finally got to do this session, Scott and Sheri were great. We spent the latter part of an afternoon walking around the park, talking, and taking a few pictures. What do you think?
