I love photographing families – specially when you can get multiple generations in the same photograph. Here’s one such photograph from a family photo session covering three generations.

If you would like to schedule a family portrait session, please contact me.

Weddings are a great time to get group photos – family, friends, wedding party – that will not only document the event but the people there.
One of the things I encourage is allowing time for group portraits outside of the standard “line up” ones. These can be more candid or relaxed while retaining the formality. Posing is minimal – I position some of the individuals and then ask the others to join them. This gets me a natural “flow” which I like.
Here’s one such example.

Weddings are about people, places, things, and rituals. That’s a very simplistic approach, but it helps focus one’s attention throughout the day to document the key things.
Here’s an example of a “place” – a beautiful wedding venue in the Houston area. The couple chose this “place” for many reasons, one of which is just it’s sheer beauty and impressive appearance. I wanted to capture that and document it in an equally impressive manner, so I decided to use one of my cameras which as been modified for ONLY infrared photography. This is the result.

Capturing that impressive place and presenting it has to be done in an equally impressive manner. I believe this shows off the Chateau Polonez in such a way.

I’ve said it before – I love black and white photography. Here’s a selection from a visit to Miami’s Art Deco District.

It’s not often that you hear a love story such as Jennifer and Danny’s, but when you do, you remember it. All I’ll say is that it nearly brought me to tears – and that was just during our first consultation!
Photographing her bridal portraits and then their wedding was such a blast. Wonderful, caring, loving individuals with family and friends celebrating with them.

So, there you have it. What a fun couple.
Oh, and her bridal portraits will be up soon too!

It’s that time of the year. Yes, if you’re graduating, have a student about to graduate, or know someone who is about to graduate, this is your opportunity to jump in for a great special offer.
So book your senior portrait session between now and March 15, 2014 (booked, paid for – actual shoot can be after that) for only $295. That includes up to two hours of shoot time anywhere in the Houston metropolitan area (Woodlands down to Clearlake, Katy out to Pasadena, travel fees apply outside of that), a disc with ten ready to print images, and an online gallery with all images. This is a significant savings over the regular $395 session fee!
Of course, if you’re wondering what you’ll get, take a look!

I love engagement sessions – part of the reason they’re complimentary with any album package. It gives you great portraits as well as giving us all an opportunity to get to know each other better prior to the wedding day.
Now, not only do you get some great portraits (yes, I’m bragging a bit), but you can also use these photos for save the date cards and to create a very custom signature book.
OK, enough with that, let’s get to the photos. You’ve already seen Elissa and Justin’s awesome wedding – here’s their engagement photos.

Here’s a beautiful intimate wedding from early last year. I’ve know Jackie (and her mom) for a few years and when I was asked to photograph her wedding to Jeff, it was an honor. It turned out to be one of the coldest days of 2013 – but it was BEAUTIFUL. The wedding was in Winchester, TX, at a small chapel with a reception for friends and family immediately afterward at a local park. GORGEOUS. That’s the only way I can describe it.

This blog is not only intended to showcase my work, but to give you an idea of what I’m like – mostly through my photography. I love to travel. I love visiting new places, meeting people, learning about the places, the people, the customs, etc. I also have a sense of humor so when I see something during my travels that makes me smile, you know I’m taking a photo of it.
During a visit to Philadelphia, I was walking through the Italian markets and I came across this – so I just had to photograph it. It made me laugh.

New Orleans, LA (NOLA) is one of my favorite cities. I’ve been visiting it at least once a year for the last five or so years. I never get tired of this city. It is ALIVE. The art galleries on Royal. The street artists. The street musicians. The great food. The architecture. Should I go on?

This, to me, is the spirit of New Orleans, LA (NOLA)
Of course, the free entertainment at Jackson Square is one of my favorite things. Not only do you have some amazing musicians playing, but you have some great artists displaying their artwork. This photograph is of one of those musicians and to me symbolizes the spirit of NOLA. I took this on film with my Canon EOS 3 and the Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS lens. I love the look of B&W film and this is one in a series I did during that visit – I shot all B&W film.
If you are booking weddings or portraits with me and would like to have it shot with film – either as primary or as secondary – please let me know. It is available as an add-on.
